He specializes in working with members of LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, BIPOC, and other marginalized groups while offering a safe space for exploring identity, processing life challenges, and fostering self-acceptance.

Sam helps clients address anxiety, depression, major life transitions, trauma recovery, and the deeper work of self-exploration and self-actualization. His integrative approach draws from existential, person-centered, cognitive behavioral, and gestalt therapy, weaving together methods that support each person’s unique needs.

Guided by a queer-affirming and neurodiversity-affirming perspective, Sam empowers clients to find clarity, resilience, and meaning in their lives.

How we do therapy

Here’s how I show up in the room: Life can be heavy, and you do not have to carry it alone. I work with anxiety, depression, and the big in-between seasons when identity and direction feel uncertain.

I keep sessions laid back and real, and we go at your pace. You get space to say the true thing without managing me or performing. I use a trauma-informed lens and an integrative style that blends Existential, Person-Centered, and some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy where appropriate. We focus on what matters to you, and we build skills that fit your life, your values, and your community.

A typical session starts with a short check-in and a shared plan for what feels most important today. We slow down the noise and map what is happening in your body, thoughts, and relationships. You can expect grounding and regulation work when stress spikes, thought mapping to loosen unhelpful cycles, and values exploration to clarify direction. I track patterns with you, reflect what I notice, and offer tools to try between sessions. We close with a quick review, any takeaways or small next steps, and an open invite for feedback so the work keeps fitting you.

Therapeutic modalities we use

  • Existential therapy focuses on the freedom and responsibility that come with living authentically. It explores what can and can’t be changed in the pursuit of creating a meaningful life.

  • This approach emphasizes the partnership between client and therapist. You’re the expert in your own life, and my job is to help you explore and move toward where you want to go.

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy examines the thoughts and behaviors tied to experiences. Examining these in therapy offers a chance to change patterns which are no longer helpful.
